Nudist versus Naturist
| The terms Naturist and Naturism were originally created as an alternative to Nudist and Nudism in the attempt to dispell negative connotations associated with Nudism. |
 |
Naturism tends to imply more environmental awareness, free beach values, and recreational nudity, while Nudism tends to be focused more around resorts and living nude full time.
- Naturism: is a form to live in harmony with the nature, characterized by the practice of the common nude, with the purpose of favoring the respect to one same one, to the others and the environment.
- Naturist: who it practices naturism. The word "naturist" should not be confused with the word "naturalist".
- Nudist is that person who practices along with a group of people, activities (nudist) of different types, generally in public especially in a mixed social setting. In most of the countries it considers himself synonymous of naturist.
- Nudism considers that the moral prohibition of the practice of the public nudity is origin of psycho-emotional problems, between which they are lack of self-esteem, poor man auto image corporal and sexual morbidity.
Some people believe that the naked human body is to be accepted, respected, cherished, and enjoyed. They believe it is not inherently shameful, corrupting, degrading, or dangerous. Many of them enjoy clothesfree activities. They reject a view that being naked with other people is morally wrong. They argue that nakedness is a healthy, natural state that being nude is to be in the purest form, since everyone was born nude. They generally find that they quickly become so accustomed to being nude among nudes that it no longer seems very remarkable. It is, rather, simply one part of their lifestyle.
- Clothesfree activities: Used to describe parks or nudist beach where nudity is required. This is in contrast to clothing-optional parks where nudity is accepted but not required. Note most clothing-optional parks will however require nudity when in the pool or hot tub.
Naturist etiquette:
- Stay out of the environmentally sensitive areas like dunes, jungles or mountains.
- Obey the regulations of the place and other posted rules.
- Help bringing a trash bag everywhere you go. Carry out more than you brought in.
- Don't go out of established nude areas.
- No overt sexual activity. Nude is not lewd, but combined with sex, undermines our image.
- Respect the property of others.
- Ask prior consent for photography. People can't legally be stopped from taking pictures in public areas.
- Privacy is fundamental, many are at the beach for quiet time and don't want to be disturbed.
- Come prepared. Bring your own supplies: beverage, food, chair, sunscreen and towel. Don't expect others to share these items.
- Speak up for standards. If a person seems unaware of beach etiquette, explain it, kindly and plainly.
Many people say that being nude in groups makes they feel more accepted for their entire being physical, intellectual and emotional. The naturist community says that they tend to be more accepted, in spite of differences in age, body shape, fitness, and health. Without clothing, one's social rank is generally obscured. The nudist person inform that they feeling more united with humanity, with less regard to a person's wealth, position, nationality, race, and sex.
